Product Vs Services

Whenever we sit in between talented marketers of 21st century, we get into some or the other discussion " Product Vs Service "..
My take has been same always.. Its not about any of them individually but its a complete ecosystem which gives added value to customers. With wide spread knowledge and growing demand of high quality value..Product and service has to complement it self.

This is the primary reason that you will find Product companies merging with service and Service companies buying product facilities. Recent times " Google buys Motorola"

Also my view for the same is " As bigger service brands move towards better products(Read physical goods), Product brands will move in same pace towards Service.. This attraction can be resulted by self innovation or accusation. Once both get married an ecosystem will be generated which will give added value to customer. This also will result in tire2 (Product/Service) brands graduating to Tire 1 brand by loosing its own separate existence. Industry will move first in direction of selling complete solution one time and then when there will be many players it will evolve into subscription format. This will have two effects :

1> Brands will look at product as entry barrier and Service as revenue model.
2> As brands will consider product as entry barrier , its cost will be apportioned on service revenue model.

I think this is how it will shape up "

Aggression & Reality

We are surrounded with huge numbers of brands. Every brand has its own way to communicate and win customer. But i feel the most important of all and the only thing thats common in the strategy is "Time Lines ".
-How fast can i communicate my Brand Value and proposition to customer?
-How fast i can win confidence of customer?
-Am i first to win

Example :

All major brands launched LED TVs now but the clear winner is Samsung.They were first to communicate , First to propose value and First to win. Even today with all the brands crashing prices , Samsung enjoys specific advantage of charging premium and customer still prefers to buy it. All Brands became followers.

What was unique about Samsung ? " They delivered with lightning Speed what others took years.

Conclusion : One of the most important Factor for any Success is TIME
